Model SSPA 2.0-5.3-200-28V is a high power, octave plus bandwidth, GaN solid state power amplifier. It is packaged in an enclosure that is optimized for high altitude operation along with high performance shock and vibration. Nominal output power is 200W but power levels at saturation of 300W are typical. This GaN broadband SSPA is designed to be employed in DoD systems where high power, medium efficiency, and high linearity are required across a broad frequency spectrum. It operates from 2.0 to 5.3 GHz. This power amplifier is capable of transmitting high PAR waveforms over a large distance exceeding 100 miles. Typical data streams exceed 500 MHz of bandwidth consisting of video and other strategic or tactical data streams. Typical small signal gain is 70 dB. The composite power added efficiency with a CW input is between 20 to 25% at room temperature. Input and output VSWR is 2.0:1 maximum. The SSPA can be blanked on and off in 50uSec maximum. Standard features include reverse polarity protection, output short and open circuit protection and over/under voltage protection. All functionality is controlled via microcontroller. All BIT/FIT signals are controlled and routed through the assembly to the host exciter. It is designed and tested to withstand MIL-STD-810 high shock and vibration requirements.
