High-power VPIN Limiter

The QPP2209 is a high-power limiter for receive chain protection in commercial and defense radar receivers. The use of a broadband diode limiter protector in conjunction with an input filter will provide protection that will let the LNA withstand high level signals. It will also not degrade the sensitivity of the receiver but protect it in the presence of a high-level signal. The QPP2209 can handle short-pulse input signals up to 40 W over a frequency range of 8 to 12 GHz. Its insertion loss is less than 0.5 dB, flat leakage is less than 19 dBm, spike leakage is less than 20.5 dBm, and recovery time is less than 30 ns. The limiter is housed in a plastic overmolded QFN package measuring 4x4x0.85 mm. As it is passive, no DC bias required. Evaluation boards available on request.
