Phased Array Antenna Control and Calibration System

The Phased Array Antenna Control and Calibration System improves signal pointing accuracy by optimizing the frequency, gain, and phase response of active antenna array elements. The automated test system reduces the process of calibrating phased arrays to a few minutes. Over-the-air calibration and characterization enables satellite designers developing AESA arrays for satellite communications to rapidly test their designs during early validation. Calibration algorithms allow measurement of gain and phase for a single phased array element and verification tests include gain and phase calibration, EIRP, radiation pattern versus beam scan angle, beam scan and range loss, cross-polarization isolation, gain compression, gain-over-noise temperature, and error vector magnitude.
